Five weeks from today, I’ll be back in Colorado! Over the past couple of weeks, time has been flying by quicker than ever. It feels like as soon as I wake up in the morning, I’m saying my good nights!
Our schedule here has been enjoyable! We have worship every evening with the 40 girls and handful of staff members. A couple of times a week, we get to share a devotional, or lead the songs. My personal favorite day is Sunday, when we get to come up with thirty Bible trivia questions and host a competition for the girls!
Similarly to Cambodia, we teach English each day. However, the girls are split into four groups, meaning we ALL teach every day! My fellow teachers (Aleena and Claire) and I have the largest class – about 16-18 girls. They range between the ages of 13 and 18 and it’s been a blast to bond with them! The other morning, we created a Mad Lib for the girls, and the results were both successful and hilarious!
In about two weeks, we will be a part of the Trail to Life Camp, a VBS-type event that hosts approximately 100 children from the area to teach them about life skills and God’s love! I am beyond excited to help out in any way possible!
Prayer requests:
- Please pray that my teammates would stay healthy! Not only have we had lots of allergies, headaches, and tiredness, but our area is also suffering from a lot of smoke pollution, which has put a few people under the weather.
- Pray that our camp would go well! Several more Americans are coming to help put it on, and we’re excited to meet them!
- Finally, pray that we would continue to bond with the girls and have a blast! They’ve been changing my life, and I desire to have the same affect on them :).
