During our time in the Dominican Republic we were able to partner with an organization called Hope4theDR ran by a married couple, Pastor Rubin and Pastor Vikki and their family’s. Here we were able to complete a lot of physical labor projects as well as participating in prayer walks. Most of our work these past couple of weeks have been been physical labor. Most of the time we worked on things such as cleaning and clearing out a river area in order to create a swimming hole for the community to swim in. We also worked a lot on setting up, tearing down and serving at events such as church services and marriage conferences. We also have gone out on prayer walks but we just walked by and prayed and we were asked not to stop and talk but walk by and pray. Compared to our ministry in Haiti we did a lot of behind the scenes ministry. At first it was really difficult but we were able to see the fruits of our labor. Because we helped clean the river out, people were able to come and swim and be in community. Because we were able to serve, set up and tear down events there were able to run smoothly. We even found out that people came to know Christ at these events. None of this is anything to do with us but all to do with God. I am not saying this to glorify my team but to show that all work for the kingdom whether people notice it or not glorifies God which is what is most important. None of my team members nor I came here for ourselves but rather because we felt led to by God. This month has been so cool and humbling at the same time when it comes to our ministry here and I can’t wait to see how my team grows over the next two weeks. But as more me personally I will be resting due to my leg.
