I bet you’re wondering why I’m back n’ blogging- just wait!!

When I began blogging in preparation for my gap year over two years ago, I was 17 years old and had just recommitted my life to Jesus. I had no idea what I was getting into, all I knew was that God had absolutely, undoubtedly captured my heart, soul, mind. I was reading through some of my blogs from 2019, specifically the one written after training camp (it’s called Training Camp: 25 Things). I remember writing right after camp and it feeling like I was pouring out my heart. My heart is so evident in that post, and I hope to do so here. I was hot on the adventure trail, and it is humbling to look back on all God has done in me, though me, and around me.

Now, I am 20 years old. After walking with God nearly 8 years, the past 2 sold out, I am a new person.

But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

2 corinthians 3:16-18

I know the voice of God, I know my Father, I know the authority I walk in as a daughter- all because God has been changing me, healing me, restoring me(and continues to!!). I am transformed, refreshed, and made new every time I enter his presence.

And the journey is continuing on; deeper, deeper he calls me.

Since the leadership/discipleship school I graduated from last fall, I have been living in Gainesville, GA. Most of my days are focused on work, serving with YoungLife/ WyldLife, living the good life in community, and probably a good book. (anyone ever read the Sacred Romance? or Crazy Rich Asians? I try to be good at reading a variety of books!:) These past few months have been a really wonderful season. Now i am mid-gear change.

God had set leading an Adventures trip in my heart months ago, and the time is here!

I will be co-leading a World Race: Semesters trip to Southern Africa, launching June 1st.

Training begins May 23rd. There’s a little less than 4 weeks until I go, and for this I will be fundraising $2,000. I will be on the field for 2 months. My fundraising bar doesn’t reflect my goal yet, but you can still donate through the donate button! and as always, I deeply value your prayers over this new season.

Also, if you have any questions, or would like to catch up, please reach out! You can shoot me an email at [email protected]

Thank you for continuing to follow my journey.

In Peace,

SG
