HELLO my people!

I have tried time after time for the past 3 weeks to write a final blog post on Thailand… but every time I came away frustrated at my inability to put all my feelings and thoughts into words. So I finally decided to choose a couple photos of my life there and share them with you all back in America… after all isn’t there a saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words” or something like that?

I know I’m not providing a lot of descriptions to these photos, so you are more than welcome to shoot me an email if you have any questions!! I would love to talk about what Jesus did while I lived in Chiang Mai!

^A year ago if you would’ve told me I would be teaching English at a Thai public school for 2 months, I most likely (100% guarantee) would’ve laughed my butt off. Yet there I was, on the other side of the world, relying on God since I had NO idea what I was doing or how to teach English! I learned so much through this, and I thank God for blessing me with this opportunity and opening to love on all those kids.

^Something Abba taught me throughout those first couple months of the Race was how much he absolutely freaking LOVES me. My God is infinite, that means that his love is infinite too!! One way in which he showed me this was through butterflies. Every time I saw a butterfly of sorts, I was reminded of God’s love for me.

^Dude spiritual warfare can really slam ya in the gut sometimes– good grief. I remember about 2 or so years ago when I first came to Thailand. At the time I was with a team of 15 other people from my home church, including my mom (shout out to Grace Community Church, love you guys). At that point I had never left the country before… when I got off the plane in Chiang Mai, Thailand I was instantly faced with a wall covered in paintings of Buddha and other bad spiritual mumbo jumbo. I felt overwhelmed by the amount of idols, shrines, and utter darkness I saw and felt. Fast forward to a couple years later, I’m back in Thailand; but this time I was armed with a holy confidence in the power of Jesus and my God! The name of Jesus is SO incredibly powerful!!!

^Thailand is a country full of beauty… the landscape, the cities, the people. Chiang Mai, the city where I lived, was surrounded by mighty green hills for miles around.

^We spent time during our second month at the Thai school planning, sketching, and painting a mural on the school’s playground wall. We went home with blues and whites smeared all over our clothes and bodies for a long time!! (Beware of getting acrylic paint on your skin… lets just say gasoline was involved to get it off).

^One Saturday our teacher friends from the Thai school took us up into the hills to visit the Queen’s gardens, visit Doi Suthep (a temple), and lunch at a beautiful lake. We love you Pia, Eing, and Bee… you helped us in so many ways during our time of teaching, and I’m so glad I can call you my friends.

^You guys prayer is incredibly powerful. Multiple times my squad has prayed for healing over someone. Someone counts us down with “1 2 3 go!” and all 48 of us prayed aloud, then someone else would close us out once we died down. Ugh it’s so awesome!!!!

^My God is the one and only true God!!! He’s alive!!!

^See these beautiful and fierce women of God? These are my teammates, these are my family. Good LORD I love them, and I’m so honored and blessed to do life with them for 9 months. I’ve cried with them, worshiped while dripping absurd amounts of sweat, taught English, laughed at the stupidest things, literally slept sandwiched between two of em, and prayed with all of them!

Goodbye Thailand, thank you for letting me get to know your genuine and beautiful people.

Love,

Regan (a.ka. BABS)
