hey y’all,

Its me! My name is Raquel Faith! as you can tell, I am professional front-facing photo triple chinned photo taker. And I am going on the World Race! WHAT! Is this real life? Praise God from all whose blessings flow!

I am of the golden age of 27 years old. I am an educator who believes in the power of education to empower student’s lives and enrich society’s way of living. I teach preschool and pre-kindergarten during the day and an academic tutor to elementary and middle school students during the afternoon. My job is challenging, yet so so rewarding. The ‘aha’ moments, the moments where you can see the glint of recognization in their eyes as they finally get it, catalyzes me to keep going onward. My job is challenging, yet so so rewarding. At my home church, I am the Director for the Children’s Ministry, where I get to tell and show my little kiddos how much God treasures them! In all the hats I wear, God’s Truth rings true: God’s unconditional, unequivocal, and radical love is true, real, refreshing, and oh so freeing!

I am INFJ (Myers-Briggs), and a Type 3 & 6 (Enneagram) so in a nutshell I am overachiever grandma with a side sauce of extraness. I graduated with my MA in TEFL from California State University, Chico— finally DONE with school. I am a self-proclaimed bookworm — bookstores and Book of The Month are my jam. I like my coffee black three times a day (yikes!). I am a successful ex-shopping addict, and now a proclaimed minimalists with only 120 clothing pieces. I am an aspiring blogger with a pea-sized knowledge about blogging but you got to start somewhere. I am a weekender vegetarian and weekdays meat-lover pizza fanatic. One of my greatest accomplishment was transforming from lactose-intolerant to cheese connoisseur.

Like Shrek, I am like an onion — I got layers. However, in all my layers, the core of my identity is who sits at the throne of my heart, the King of my heart. And His name is Jesus Christ! I am His and He is mine. He is my Beloved.

So here I am, with all my layers, ready to go on the World Race. I said ‘yes’ to His call to leave my comforts behind. To reach to the unreached, to love the unloved, and to be the salt and light of the world. To 11 countries in 11 months proclaiming the truth of the Gospel. To be the Church of Christ. To be His hands and feet.

So why the World Race? Of all the organizations to choose from, why this? Why choose to live with all your necessities in a 65L backpack? Stay tuned for my next blog!

xoxo, ms. raquel
