Me and my team have been in the Philippines for about two weeks now. The Lord is continuing to work through all of our hearts as we serve Him! Real quick, I am just going to brag on my team cause they are so awesome ! God has blessed me tremendously to be surround by these Godly women whose hearts are so purely in love with the Lord. Everyday I learn something new from one of them and everyday they help me grow. It is so wonderful to watch how God is using each of us in our own ways but also how we all work together so well. The Lord continues to give us strength when we are tired, smiles on our faces when things might not go as planned, and trust, knowing He will lead us in every step we take. I could not have asked for a better group of girls to do the next few months with :)!
STORY TIME
Yesterday morning I woke up and felt super down on myself. I was not in the best mood but I was determined to change that before I had to start my day. It was around 5:30 in the morning and everyone was asleep in my house. I decided to get my journal and go up to the roof and have a little chat with God. I sat in my eno and started writing in my journal. The first thing I did was write a list of all the things I wanted God to do.
I wrote:
GOD GIVE ME STRENGTH
GOD GIVE MY JOY
GOD GIVE ME CONFIDENCE
GOD GIVE ME PEACE
GOD GIVE ME WISDOM.
As I was asking God for these things I looked out and saw the sky. When I saw the sky, the brightest light was bursting through the clouds. As I continued to look, a picture formed in my mind. I began to see the Lord standing behind the clouds. I could not see his actual face but I could see the brightness shining off of Him. The beams of light symbolized His presence shining down on me. In that moment it was as if the Lord was in heaven within the clouds but at the same time I could feel his presence sitting right next to me on the roof. I then heard the Holy Spirit say to me, “All those things you are asking me for I AM. I live in you and have already equipped you with each of those tools”. As soon as I heard that I began to right again but this time a little different.
I wrote:
GOD YOU ARE MY STRENGTH.
GOD YOU ARE MY JOY.
GOD YOU ARE MY CONFIDENCE.
GOD YOU ARE MY PEACE.
GOD YOU ARE MY WISDOM.
I realized that In our daily lives God has empowered us each with all of these things and more. He is that strength you get even when you feel like you have none left. He is that joy you feel even in your hardest days. He is that confidence you have when you proclaim the truth of his word. He is the peace you feel that surpasses all understanding. He is the wisdom that helps you in the midst of every decision.
How blessed are we that our Lord is all those things for us. We do not have to beg for them or earn them. Instead He freely, in love, gifts them to us. I picture Him sitting with arms open wide smiling and saying “sweet daughter come and receive the life giving gifts I have for you.”
I pray that the Lord encourages you as He did me in this time. Thank you for all the prayers for me and my team! They are reaching us all the way over here <3
