Hi Everyone!
God is so good!!! It’s been a little over a month since my commitment to the World Race:Gap Year, and it has completely flown by. I feel like it was just the other week that I began this journey.
So much has been going on: I’ve been sending out support letters, making phone calls, baking and selling tons of muffins (btw thank you so much to my parents and friends for helping me do that; that was a week of many late nights and cold mornings 🙂 I also want to give a ginormous thank you to my school and family for helping me in my fundraising by giving a little over $600 toward this journey just by buying muffins; that is absolutely amazing!!! Also, thank you to all those who have so generously scarified their money to help support me!
When I began this adventure I knew that God would provide every cent for my trip, but as time went by I began to worry a little if I would get all the money for the trip cause that’s a lot of money! In the midst of this worry the Lord began to step on my toes a little in saying, “Natasha, I have raised people from the dead, I have opened the eyes of the blind, I have caused the lame to walk again, I have turned hearts of stone into hearts of flesh, $16,600 is really no big deal to Me whatsoever! Just trust Me.”
Wow! What else is there to be said.
“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.” – Philippians 4:19-20
This is am amazing truth that we can all lean on. Paul was writing this to the Philippians because of their generosity toward him. So know that not only will God supply the $16,600, but He will also supply the needs of those who are investing into His kingdom!
One of my spiritual models told me that money would be coming from people that I would never imagine; people who don’t have much money and people who I don’t even know. I have already seen the Lord fulfilling both of those statements!
This weekend at my church’s mission conference I was challenged by one of the speakers. You see, the theme was “Reach the World- Why?, When?, Where?, Who?”. This particular speaker was talking on the “Where?” part. In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus tells His disciples to “…GO therefore and make disciples of all nations…”; he said that the word “go” doesn’t always have a specific destination. It is just simply following Jesus Christ wherever He is going; so as you are going, make disciples. You may ask, “Where is Jesus going?” That’s a great question! He is going to the grocery stores, to gas stations, across the street, into the schools, in churches, all across the U.S., and He’s going all across the world! He’s going everywhere!!! So will you commit to “going with Jesus” and as you are going being open to let the Lord use you to make disciple of all nations?
He also spoke of John 4 where Jesus intentionally goes through Samaria, where most people usually avoid. He took the disciples into an “uncomfortable” place, but for Him it was completely comfortable because it was the will of God. He challenged us that in following Jesus into the “uncomfortable” places we find the Great Comforter of all!
It’s crazy to think that I would surrender to the Lord all of my comforts to go to three different foreign lands for nine months to share the gospel, yet it is so hard for me to do the same thing here in my home town! Pray that the Lord will continue to work on me in that area!
This is a little snippet of what the Lord has been showing me, and I hope it encourages you as well!!!
