It’s been on my heart to share a little bit of my process of fundraising. I hope you find my thoughts below encouraging and uplifting.
When I started this World Race journey, the amount of money I needed to raise intimidated me. I was afraid of what people would think about this crazy faith-filled decision that I just made. I had a lot of lies go through my head about whether I was even equipped or qualified to do such a thing. But I felt a deep deep peace run through my bones about my decision to say “Yes” to this opportunity. It didn’t make a lot of sense money-wise but at the end of each day as I fundraised I had to choose to let go of control and put it back on God. What we say “yes” to is truly about Him. We just simply get to partner with what He is doing. And, I had to see that the Lord would never call me to something without providing the favor, provision and grace for it. Yes, there have been days where I’ve let fear lead me, and forgotten that this is HIS perfect plan. Yet, His goodness covered me and I still saw so much favor that only had to be from Him.
It’s been amazing to see his faithfulness come through. One example was when I asked the Lord earlier this year for a very specific living situation as I prepared for the Race. I had a few opportunities come up before the one I actually prayed for came. I told the Lord as the other two opportunities came, “God, that’s not what I prayed for. I’m waiting on You.” The third opportunity finally came, and it was exactly what I prayed for. And let me tell you, it has been such a beautiful blessing to be living where I am now. There has been countless of other testimonies on how God has provided for this trip as well. Every time I am reminded how big He is.
My hope in this is to encourage you, what is that one thing that seems impossible? Is it finances? Is it family? Is it breakthrough? Is it a circumstance? Is it something you feel called to? I pray you find this encouraging and are reminded that God is so faithful and so big. He is the mountain mover and such a faithful Father.
14 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. 20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. 21 Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen. – Ephesians 3:14-20
A little update:
-
I GOT MY LAUNCH DATE! I leave January 8th from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and land in Peru on the 9th!!
-
God has provided over $17,000 for my trip so far. I mentioned in a Facebook post that I still need $10,000 to meet my goal. I can still leave without being fully funded, but my next two fundraising goals are $19,000 in March and $27,000 in May. GUYS, He already provided over $17,000.. Isn’t He SO good?
I am so beyond thankful for every person who has partnered with Him through this opportunity by praying and giving. Every seed you have sown through prayer and giving is going to touch so many lives across the world. Thank you for partnering with what the Lord is doing on this missions trip. Please pray for me in the final few weeks of preparation and for my Squad as they prepare and meet their fundraising deadlines. I most likely will be updating you all again in January when I land in Peru!
