Sometimes it can be easy to question how am I going to do this. But the truth is, I am not the one making this all work out for myself. The Lord placed a call on my heart and I am answering by simply saying yes. It can be easy to take my eyes off of what He is doing and feel like I am doing this alone, but the Lord always kindly reminds me to keep my eyes locked on Him. He reminds me that I can pray about everything and tell Him what I need, and I can trust Him with those needs. One morning, I prayed, “God, it would be cool if I could get more house sitting jobs.” A few hours later, someone messaged me asking me to house sit. This is such a simple thing, but He is working in all of the smallest details of our lives.
When I take the time to reflect on what God has done in my life and what He is doing in it now, I am overwhelmed with thankfulness and awe. I got to sit down with someone and share my story with them this week, and sharing it is like tasting His goodness all over again. I was a girl who was so lost in the pain of her past and hated God, but His pursuit of me never ceased. Now I get to chase after the things He has put on my heart, let go of worry or fear in the process, and trust Him with every need I have along the way.
He’s been doing it, and here’s a little update: So far God has provided me with $6,563 for this mission! To stay on track, my goal is to raise a total of $7,000 by September. I’m really close! Pray with me though that I would exceed that goal and be fully funded before I leave in January! I have started my Adopt-A-Box fundraiser this month and this would raise a total of $11,325 by people just giving small amounts of money! Here’s how it works:
You choose a box, and the number of that box equals the amount that you choose to give, for example: Box #5 = $5. Whoever “adopts” the most boxes will receive a printed canvas of a photo that I took! You can invest in a “box” by selecting the “donate” button on the top of this page, or I can tell you other ways to give as well! 🙂
