Oh, hey
So this is my Wold Race blog. Woah. There’s a lot of emotions running through my mind about this, but one thing I know for sure is that the Lord has me here for a reason and this is the next step towards me pursuing His purpose.
Heres a little backstory to me choosing to go on the race:
I heard about the World Race over spring break in 2018 while I was in Rwanda, Africa. One of my teammates was already signed up and going later that year, and while on that trip she told me all about it. (shoutout to Ali Curtis). Hearing about a program where I could go to 11 different countries in 11 months and do straight up missions the whole time sounded right up my alley. When I got back to the US I couldn’t get the thought of going on the race out of my head, so I did as much research as I could and wanted to go even more, while praying about where the Lord was leading me to after college. My passion for loving people of different cultures and seeing the wonders our earth has to offer seemed to be wrapped up in one neat package with my name on the tag. So I said to myself “I have to go as soon as I can!”
Now let me clarify something: I’m not doing this just so I can travel the world. Even though I love traveling (h*ck my whole childhood was traveling) and that is a big part about why I am going on the race, its not the main reason I’m going.
The main reason I’m going on the race is because I feel God’s call for more out of my life than just graduating from college and getting a job and settling down. I want to glorify God and spread his sweet, sweet name throughout the world while pursuing the passions He’s given me!
He’s given me a wild heart, and I wanna run with that as far as it’ll take me. And I believe this is where He’s taking me.
((BUT there’s nothing wrong with graduating and getting a job and settling down. You can for sure glorify God through that, which I think is really really cool and I’ll probably write more on that later; but that’s not for me. ))
Which brings me to the last thing I’ll mention in this post: fundraising.
You might have seen that *little* bar at the top of the page with the amount of money I have to raise and have said to yourself “there’s no way he’ll be able to raise that much!” Trust me, I’ve been there. But trust me on another thing: If this is what God wants me to be doing, He’ll provide the way for me to go. That’s what I’m trusting in and I hope you’ll come alongside of that and help me with that goal. *ACTUAL LAST THING:* I can’t do any of this without prayer. Please pray for my squad as we’re preparing to go on this journey over the next year. Please pray for the team leaders who are planning this journey and that God will direct them to where we should go. Lastly please pray for me as I’m fundraising and finishing school, and that I would continue seeking God through everything that comes my way.
