Wow, Mongolia! You have really been good to me. From mountaintops to dirt roads, squatty potties to toilets, coffee shops to pubs, baby wipe baths to community showers (once a week lol), you have been quite an adventure.

In Philippians 4:11, Paul says, “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” <— That has become SO REAL.

So far, we have had the opportunity to teach English to the youth in our area, work alongside a new contact—who is setting up the kindergarten school curriculum for all of Mongolia, clean our host church, and evangelize. We’ve had days that were so busy we were knocked out by 8pm, and days that all of our plans got canceled and we were scrounging for things to do. We’ve gone weeks using only baby wipes and dry shampoo to bathe, and been rewarded with hot showers after a long day’s work. Through it all, there has been new healing, new growth, new strengths, and new confidence. There has also been new conflict, new insecurities, new weaknesses, and new struggles. Here comes the tricky part…

Where is Jesus?

He has been there, but can we find Him? More importantly, are we looking for Him?

Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.” So often it seems like we focus on “I can do all things” and forgot about “Him who gives me strength.” Without God, without the love of Jesus, without the sacrifice, without “Him who gives me strength,” none of this would be possible. None of this would have purpose. None of this would make sense.

Thank you, Lord, that the glory is all yours even when we forget to give it to you. This week’s challenge is to seek and find Jesus in everything. He’s always there to find IF we look.

We’re currently going through a devo as a team that one of our incredible Coaches, Shelia, helped put together. Day 7: It’s Not You; It’s Him, reminds us that “We are seeking the Master, not the mission. We serve the King, not the kingdom.”

To all my fellow World Racers: Stay humble. Stay willing. Stay open. Stay looking for Jesus. “Let Him be the author of your desires and abilities to do work for Him.”
