I have tried to write this blog multiple times. I’ve tried at least twice ever since I got home from training camp. I just couldn’t find what I wanted to share with yall. But I am still collecting my thoughts and realized there are so many things that I learned, took away, felt, and witnessed at camp. so here is a list of a bunch of random things about my squad, my team, camp, and all the amazing things that I learned the 10 days I was in Gainesville, Georgia.
Squad W – 43 people. Individually unique in so many different ways. Different characteristics, personalities, and stories. But the same deep love for the father. The same deep yearning to pursue and grow with him. All made possible and put together by our good good father. I can not wait to do life with these people. I love you so much Squad W.
Team P31 – Evelyn, Skylar, Midge, Paige, Charlie, and Ana! My girls. My Sisters. My People. I love you so deeply. I love the way you encourage me fiercely. I love the way you point me to the cross. I can’t wait to be loved by you and to do ministry with you people. A group and love that only the father could’ve knitted together. Thank you, Jesus.
Leadership Team – I value intentional relationships so much, and I am so grateful for the love I have felt by the group of leaders on our squad. Thank you for fighting for his fame, and making it so evident that you are willing to sacrifice and walk in obedience.
Bucket Showers, Baby Wiping It Out, And Lots Of Febreze – Georgia is hot. Sticky. and makes you smelly. Especially when your only source of cleansing yourself is by a bucket shower, or baby wipes. Also wasn’t the greatest at remembering things for my bucket shower, iykyk. A bucket shower consists of filling up a lowes bucket and using a measuring cup to rinse yourself off. Also, Febreze is a lifesaver especially when you run out of clothes and start having to wear the ones you wore on the hike or the ones that have set in the bottom of your tent.
Dance Parties For The Win – Dance it out. I am so grateful for the dance parties that happened on the dining patio. The randoms and the planned. Have dance parties. They bring so much joy.
Phoneless- So grateful for the moments I didn’t have my phone. The moments when I got to really dig deep and concentrate on being in the moment. It was such a good break. I am so grateful for a moment of really taking advantage of being with Jesus and these people.
Different Food- This girl is a really picky eater. I am all for CFA and that’s pretty much it. So I bought a lot of snacks. Like a lot. Hopefully when actually on the race I can be pushed out of my comfort zone in that area, but as far as a training camp. I ate chips for all three meals. My pleasure
Oh Yeah, I Forgot My Bible – Silly me, I forgot my bible. I felt really ashamed about it and then realized. Nope, not mine to have. Thanks, teamies who let me borrow with ya. Yall are some real teamies.
Jumping Up And Down Worship – When God shows up he really shows up. Night after night I saw Jesus declare freedom in peoples lives. Showing us that worship wasn’t only through song. I am so grateful for the pure and genuine worship. The worship and momenta with Jesus where I freely jumped up in down because of who HE is.
Worthy Of His Love – I have walked through a really shameful and messy past and I honestly for a while and still can’t wrap my mind around the fact there is nothing I have to do to just receive the fathers love. But during training camp, he just reminded me that he already paid the ultimate price.
This is just a small glimpse of the things I experienced at camp, but they are special to me.
God is good, and I am so thankful for the ten days I had at training camp and the overwhelming love I felt.
September 7 I am ready for you.
