Training Camp Snapshot
About 3 weeks ago I returned from a 10 day training camp in Georgia. I meant to write a post about it a few weeks ago, but it is better late than never!! :o) I was super nervous to go initially since I didn’t know anyone in my group, but I quickly realized that God had that one covered! I made great bonds with my team and now rather than feeling nervous for launch I am super excited. The camp was designed to prepare us for life in the field, and each day was themed after a different country so we could learn about their culture, beliefs, food, and lifestyle. I learned what it was like to wear long pants all day long in 90 degree heat with 95% humidity. If you want talk sweaty…………….that was it! Thanks India training day! Learning to live out of my backpack and sleeping in a tent (again in 90 degree heat with 95% humidity!) helped to prepare me for what is to come in the next 9 months. Top all of that off with some crazy food (crickets included) and lots of lightning accompanied with monsoon like rain……………………………..and I now feel ready for where God is calling us to go! When I got back home, I jumped right back into my jobs and making money to help fund this trip. I have a $10,000 dollar fundraising deadline approaching on August 19th, and I still have a ways to go but I am getting closer!. I am super pumped to head out and love on people and share/pursue Jesus, and I am so grateful for all of the prayers and support from all of you!
God Bless,
Mason Ruark
