Hi everyone!!
Thank you for visiting my blog, I’m so excited to have this opportunity to share the Gospel over seas and make Christ known to all! I am currently a sophomore at Hawkeye Community College in the Liberal Arts transfer program, and plan to transfer to the University of Northern Iowa next year to major in Leisure Youth and Human Services. In my free time I work at a daycare, love spending time with my family and friends, attend my student ministry, and also lead a group of middle school girls. After college, I hope to find a job at a Church or Bible Camp as youth director, or whatever God presents me with.
In February of 2018, I decided to give my life to Christ (happy jesus-versary to me!) I am blessed to have grown up going to Church and attending a private Christian school, and for gaining my first understanding of God and his love. Although I knew God, and created a very firm foundation for my faith in my childhood, I never developed a deep understanding of His love for me in adulthood. After joining my college ministry, God rocked my world in the best way possible. I had a complete life style change and experienced joy like never before. I spent last summer working as a counselor at a bible camp, getting to share the Gospel and love on kids everyday. After being constantly poured into, and pouring out to my co-workers and campers, I realized this is how God wants to use me in this life on earth. I switched from studying Dental Hygiene for the awesome salary and stability, to giving my future career to God and pursuing a life of working to advance His Kingdom.
Aside from a future career change, God more importantly revealed to me His great gift of salvation. Before, I never believed I could possibly go to Heaven because of my sin and the shame that came with it. I remember the overwhelming feeling of guilt turning me away from God time and time again. After being constantly showed the truth of the Bible all last year, specifically Ephesians 2:8-9, God showed me I simply have to accept his free gift of love for me. For it is by grace through faith I have been saved, and there is nothing I could do to earn it because it is God’s free gift!! I am born new in Christ and there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, for those who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Although my new life has caused me ridicule from many, life in Christ Jesus is the best trade I could ever receive! I hope that God continues to show me His unfailing love, and you all as well!! Thank you for visiting and reading my blog!
