Hey everyone! We have been doing ministry for a week and a half now, so I want to share our usual routine with you guys!
Our ministry week starts on Tuesday and goes to Saturday. On Tuesday-Friday from 7:30-11:30am, we go to ACE American Academy where students learn english and the bible. We work with students ages 18 months-17 years. I work in the Primary 2 classroom that has about 8-10 students that range from 10-13 and are studying around a second grade level in English. We have been studying parts of speech and the students have been doing really well. After ACE, we go home and we have a break from 11:30-3:00. In this time, we eat lunch and have our daily team time. After the break, we go out on our prayer walk from 3:00-4:30. During this time we walk around our neighborhood and pray for anything and everything! We show our face around the neighborhood in the hope that we can build relationships with as many people as possible. It has been really cool to spend that amount of time just in prayer, It has made me realize how much I value just spending time thanking and talking to God everyday! After our prayer walk we have community time from 4:30-6:00 on Wednesdays and Fridays. This time looks like us playing any game at all with kids on the street. Sometimes we play volleyball with the college students that live near us, sometimes we get to have races with 15 kids at once! I really love hanging out with these kids, They are so excited to see us everyday and play games. It can be anything we want to make it. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we don’t do our community time because we are doing prayer and worship nights with the students of ITCS (International Theological College and Seminary). This is from 7:30-9:00pm, we get to spend another hour and a half in worship and prayer. The director of ITCS really wanted us to spend sometime in worship to show the students that Worship isn’t just done one way. As well as demonstrate the freedom that we have to worship in any way that we feel led. That is our typical weekday experience. On Saturdays, we switch back and forth from going to a village about an hour away with the ITCS students and staying at ACE to do projects around the school. I have been to one village ministry day and it was so much fun and such a cool experience, blog and pictures to come! Today will be my first project day, and we are preparing for a Christmas Program. On Sundays, we have a sabbath day and rest. On Mondays, we get an adventure day and go experience Cambodia. I have loved it here so far and I cant wait to share more with you all soon!
