Hello everyone! This weeks ministry has been with Conexion. We have been helping lead field trips for elementary aged children. The first day, we were with second graders. The next day we were with 4 and 5 year olds. Today (9/27), we were with about 75 sixth graders, it was so much fun! We started out the day doing some fun ice-breakers, then we went into some team-building activities, my team was named Lagajada,I have no idea what it means. From there, we had snack time and after that, we played Gaga ball, Steal the Bacon, and Fútbol. Then, we went straight into a water relay race, which the kids loved. In that process, we all attempted to soak each other, luckily I got away relatively dry, however, my teammate, Emily was not so lucky! The kids then went to change into dry clothes, and then we started arts and crafts. This time was definitely the most memorable for me. We had every one write their name on a piece of paper and then they passed them around so that we could write encouraging notes on them for the kids. They even wanted me to write my name on a papaer and they wrote stuff for me too, which was so amazing! Again, the language barrier made things a little bit more “difícil”, but we overcame. Then we made the salvation bracelets that most of us had made in our time in Sunday school as kids. Many of the children got emotional when Christian , our ministry partner, had told them part of his story. They said that so many of them could relate. This, made me super emotional as well, I couldn’t stop crying! Seeing these little girls and boys feeling that God can give them hope is something I will never forget! This has been one of the most memorable, exciting, hope-filled ministry days I have ever been to. I pray for more days like these to come.
Currently it is 8:28 pm. We are on our way to Guanacaste to host an event with Conexion again. I am beyond excited for these kids to experience Jesus tomorrow! Stay tuned, Love y’all and I will talk again soon!
