THE BASICS
Hello to all who are reading! My name is Mackenzie (or Kenz, or Kenzie, or Mack, or literally anything else) and I’m 21 years old. I currently live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and it is pretty much always freezing here. I’ve lived here my whole life with my mom, my two younger brothers, Samuel and Jacob, and my step-dad. I’m also the oldest out of 16 cousins, so I’m used to playing mom (#momlife) and taking care of the people around me. I’m currently in my 4th year of university and I’m a psychology major. I have a cat, he’s pretty cute and he cries a lot, but I love him. His name is Sullivan. I also have a boyfriend, he’s also pretty cute but he doesn’t cry a lot, and I love him. His name is Cadon. I’m pretty much your standard beaver-catching, sorry-saying Canadian!
I’ve been a Christian ever since I can remember. I went to a Christian school all my life and my school gave me the foundation I needed for my relationship with God. However, that relationship was truly challenged after my dad passed away when I was 9 years old. I dealt with a lot of hurt, grief, and distrust for almost 10 years. Some days I still miss him, but I can now find rest in the fact that he gets to spend eternity with Jesus. And even though he is gone, I’m still learning new things from him.
Two years ago, I started attending the church I attend now. I never realized how important relationships were and I’m so grateful God brought me to that place because I now have a community of friends who are so much fun and mean the world to me. God is constantly teaching me and reminding me of his love and how important it is to love others.
PASSIONS AND HOBBIES
I love new experiences. I love trying new foods and going to new places. Part of me loves being uncomfortable in a new atmosphere because it is so exciting and terrifying. I love adrenaline and being active. It is really cool to see what I’m capable of.
I love working with children and youth. First off, I love babies. Honestly, ask anyone who knows me, I’d be happy to hold babies all day (in a not weird way). I think growing up with younger cousins made me appreciate having kids around all the time. It is so fun to just be goofy and not care what adults think. I also love working with youth. I lead a grade 11 girls group and I love them all to bits.
I love reading and writing and learning. I’m one of those crazy people who actually enjoys being in school. It is really exciting to learn new things and find what I’m passionate about.

I have never broken a bone (and I plan on maintaining that streak)

I graduated with a class of 13 students
My favourite places in the world are Tofino, Scotland, and Disney World
I’m an INFP and an Enneagram Type 2, I like to take care of people
