Nam-a-stay!!

The greeting of hello in both Nepali and Hindi!

What’s been ruminating my mind and heart of late is the gift of generosity. I sing praises for the immense amount of kindness and selflessness that has shown to my team and I all leading up to our current location of New Delhi, India!

You can’t apprize this gift of generosity because it is one that flows steadily from the heart. Some may say they do it for “ good karma” in return but I believe that each and every person carries qualities of Christ within them,

“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”  Genesis 1:27

Evidently enough, Jesus is the perfect example for how to live generous lives and be stewards of giving our time, talents, money and ultimately meeting the needs of those around us. Time and time again I have seen from complete strangers to my very own teammates giving straight from the love of their hearts, not because they had to but because they CHOSE to.

Let me share through pictures storytelling some of our encounters with people who resemble the Lord’s sweet kindness.

A walk down memory lane of generosity..

This is the Kumar family, we were invited over for dinner at their place one of our first nights in Kathmandu. We got connected through my teammate Denise’s eyebrow lady in the states! They served us an extravagant three course Nepali meal! I could rave about the dal bat for dayyyyss!! Our team left their home with full bellies and even fuller hearts after sharing laughter, fruitful conversation and a lot of cross-cultural dance moves;)

This is Prabin and his family. We met Prabin through my teammate Hannah! He works for a travel agency in Thamel. After conversing and sharing meals together with him at a nearby restaurant to his work office, he invited us to his home for an afternoon tea and small dinner. He has also assisted in coordinating and purchases our bus tickets to Pokhara and the long distance travel to Delhi.

*not picture, I was the photographer

Denise turns 26!!! We celebrated by taking her out for sushi! Our team came together and showered Denise with fun decorations, cake and a night on the town! Bella graciously put together a montage video from all her loved ones at home to present to her and Hannah ended up covering all of our meals for the evening. Our dedicated, hard-working leader deserved it all!!

We were invited to stay with Eric’s (our squad leader sisters family) in Pokhara, Nepal for four days!! Her family spoiled us with awesome meals, a cozy home that felt like our U.S home and much adventure… more pictures below..

a scary fun experience with the Gagestein’s TOP OF THE LINE bikes as we rode the rocks of the mountains. Thank you God for seeing more of your beautiful creation!

A good friend of Hannah’s family friends pastor a church and school here in Delhi, we were invited to the slum school with the most thankful and well mannered children and afterwards  they had us over for dinner and worship and we had a lovely evening stroll through the neighborhood.

This is honestly a handful of times where I have encountered people while on the field that have gone over and beyond with generosity to serve the needs of others. Just because some have not acknowledged truth and accepted Christ into their lives, doesn’t mean they don’t hold power in love and Christ within them. It is a true testament to give without need of a return. I am honored to walk this life knowing that life is a gift and the giver is good. Thank you Jesus for using others to show your abundant love for me. I cannot wait to see what is to come!!

I am still raising support and would love your help, guidance and prayer. Reach out if you know of anyone who is interested and would like to hear more testimonies, stories and even the hardships of life on the field.

Thank you in advance and as always much love to you all!!
