I have officially said the last of my goodbyes to family and friends and off on the World Race. Well not really “off” on the World Race. Before I hop on a plane and travel to Mongolia I have to do a little more training. For the past two days I have been in Atlanta learning more about the race and how to empower others while using my job title as treasurer for my team. For the first season of the race I have been selected to steward the teams funds.

When I was first asked to take on this task, I wasn’t really sure what to think. I might be crazy but something I have always enjoyed doing is balancing numbers out and planning out meals. It is task that I know I will absolutely love to but also nervous to mess anything up. But this opportunity is more then just a job or task. It is an opportunity to empower others on my team by sharing responsibility with them.  God has a plan for my team and as a team, we together have the challenge of stewarding your money well. We are going to grow in fellowship by meal prepping together, going out to the local market together, and ultimately sitting around the table together to eat our meal and giving thanks to all God has given us.

I am excited for this next adventure. This job will be challenging but I have an amazing group of girls around me to encourage me and that are ready to help when I need it.

Till next time,

Lacy Jolene
