The definition(s) of whole: (a) seemingly complete or total (b) having all its proper parts or components

In Genesis 1:27 it says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him: male and female he created him.” In the beginning God walked in the garden with Adam and Eve; man was made too have a relationship with the Lord. The world was perfect and whole before sin entered the picture. When Adam and Eve ate the fruit, sin entered the world. Severing man’s relationship with God, humanity became broken by sin, but the Lord put us back together with the blood shed on the cross. Only Jesus can give wholeness to a broken life. Colossians 2:9-10 “For in him the whole fulness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rules and authority.” When you ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior you become whole. The Spirit comes and dwells in you and you are constantly being filled with God’s love and grace. It is impossible to be complete without God.

What wholeness means to me is this:

It means being complete. It means my inner being not wanting for anything because God fills every corner of my life. It means having endless joy and peace even when life is hard at times. It means knowing that no matter what, God has put my broken pieces together and nothing in the world could ever break my soul because I belong to the Lord. I am whole because of the crossing God’s love for me.
