Hey y’all!

Just wanted to update everyone and say that I am alive and well and currently in Ghana!

—we don’t have WiFi at all this month except a phone hotspot that sometimes works, but mostly doesn’t. So we really only use it to update through uploading blogs and photos!

We are living in Keta, Ghana on the Keta Lagoon! It may be a bit hot, but the breeze coming off the water is a huge blessing. We live downstairs and our hosts Angie and Paul and their 4 kids live on the floor above us! Every morning I wake up early so I can see the sun come up and watch everyone partake in their morning routine. Sitting at the top of the stairs gives you a perfect view of the water, the road we live on and all the neighbors (who I love waving at each day).

We are working with Center for Africa Missions doing many different things. We are partnered with a group of people from California (from adults to high schoolers) building a school that will be an actual building for the kids. They are currently in a very small building that consists of wood, bamboo and some scrap metal as the roof.

Usually after half a day of carrying buckets of sand, rock and cement, lifting cement blocks, and getting as dirty as possible we have lunch then hangout with the kids ministry in the evening.

There is a court right on the beach where we play basketball or just hangout playing games with the kids in the area. Our hosts also have a gym called The Lord’s Gym, which is an actual gym right on the beach. The have housing above, where they are housing the missionaries from California. We usually eat lunch and dinner up there on the porch, overlooking the basketball court, beach and ocean. It’s a blessing to have such a wonderful location once again!

This is a shorter month than most due to debrief and mini debrief, but we are excited to continue working with this ministry as the days go on. OH..ALSO, we had team changes! Instead of 4 teams of 5, we had two people from our squad raised up as squad leaders as our alumni squad leaders are heading home in a few weeks (don’t want them to go)! So now we have a squad of 3 teams of 6 or 5 people. My team is the smallest and is once again an all girls team! AND God has blessed me with 2 of my old teammates, Anna and Kayla, while giving us the opportunity to be with two new team members, Alycia and Adi. We are so excited to be working with a wonderful ministry here in such a gorgeous part of Ghana!

Prayer requests:

-That my team and I would stay safe and healthy while doing constructions/lots of manual labor and adjusting to another country.

-That my squad mates and myself would reach fully funded so soon!

-That God’s name and word would continue spreading to all people in all nations!

FUNDRAISING:
I just need $83 left until I’m fully funded! If you feel led to partner with me to help close this gap, you can click on the donate button right here in my blog!

Until all have heard,
Kristen
