MIA (Missing in Argentina)

I know I haven’t been around lately with updates, but I haven’t had access to wifi very much (which is actually really nice)! I am currently living in Mendoza, Argentina in the woods in this cute little cabin with some of my favorite people. Getting to sit in the woods every morning, walk around with a pack of dogs following me and explore around downtown, I know God really loves me a lot. Not that I didn’t know this before, but God knew that I needed lots of space during an all squad month, lots of dogs to sit on me as I read in the mornings and beautiful places to explore.
Speaking of all squad month…the whole team is together. We are all living on the YWAM base here in Mendoza. Each team has a little cabin and it kind of looks like we all have our own little village, along with the staff homes. YWAM stands for Youth With A Mission and it is an amazing organization. It is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. I have loved getting to know the staff and our main team point person, Alyssa is amazing. She is from the states, but has lived her for awhile, met her husband here and has two really cute girls!

Ministry this month:
Ministry here has been different than last month and the month before. It hasn’t always been all fun and glamorous. We have done manual labor almost everyday on the base we live at. Raking leaves, sweeping the areas around the buildings, cleaning the pool (which is massive), moping floors and cleaning bathrooms. Waking up knowing we will be doing manual labor may not bring me joy, but the Lord sure does. I have been having so much fun serving this ministry in the ways that they currently need help. While raking leaves, Anna and I had such a good conversation about life and I got to know Alyssa more while doing work around the camp with her. The Lord has been teaching me a lot about finding joy in everything I do, as well as showing me that He is present at all times. So while I may not find excitement in all of the ministry I do, I can still choose joy and talk to the Lord about any and everything during service.

Other than manual labor around the base my team has gotten to visit some churches and share testimonies, visit a soup kitchen, work with some kids, intercede in prayer around downtown, evangelize in the park downtown, and visit a hospital to pray for and with people. My favorite moments in ministry have been the days and nights that I have least wanted to do any type of ministry. A few days of ministry have meant skipping dinner and getting home around 11ish for dinner. Initially I was tired and just wanting to skip out on ministry and then I had one of the best nights yet (multiple times). It has been a sweet reminder that God is so good and knows what exactly what I need. Two blogs that will follow this one will explain in depth more about my top two moments this month. I connected with one little girl and one woman and got to pray with each of them and tell them how beautiful and loved they are.
