Wow. God is so powerful. These are the words that have continued to run through my head. His presence is at work in our lives everyday. We just rarely open our eyes enough to see It. I have recently been learning to do so and it’s incredible what He will reveal. He can and does do some big things, some healing things, some miracle things. Those stories that you hear in the bible, the Lord continues to move in those mighty, miraculous ways today.
I got the blessing to meet some of my squad members Sunday. (Fyi they are freaking awesome) But anyway, some of them started sharing a story from that day that was really moving. So I decided I wanted to share it as well to show y’all a specific way the Lord revealed his power.
In addition to meeting some squad members I also got to meet a guy named Ben that just got home from world race gap year. As we were all walking down the street together we looked back and saw that Ben had stopped and was talking to a homeless man. So we joined him. Ben was very genuinely asking this man, Paul, how his life was. Then he asked what he could pray for him for. Paul said that he has had some knee pain and swelling. Ben placed his hand on Paul’s knee and we prayed for healing. After the prayer, Ben very casually asked how his knee was feeling and to our surprise Paul said that he felt relief. He was beaming.
The story is very simple and I know what you’re thinking. Paul very well could have been bluffing. But I know the power of the Lord. I have heard the stories. I have witnessed him move in my own life. He is oh so more than capable of freeing Paul of his pain.
The moment keeps playing in my mind and it leaves me in awe of our God. I don’t need to wait til I’m on the World Race to make a difference for the kingdom of God. That starts now. Just being love to everyone I meet. Just being Jesus to my friends. Just being willing to pray for my neighbors. It’s that simple. I hope this story encourages you as much as it did me. 🙂
