Pause, take a moment and let’s go back to a specific moment that made an impact on your life.
Did a specific moment stand out? I’ve had a lot of those moments, such as accepting Christ, my mother traveling to Mexico after not being able to see her parents for years, my sisters being born, losing my grandfathers, many more moments and now training camp. Isn’t it mind-blowing that those moments make an impact and prepare us for what the Lord has in-store. THANKFUL, THANKFUL FOR THOSE DIFFICULT BUT NECESSARY MOMENTS.
I took a flight to Georgia for a two-week training camp, I had no expectations but felt numb. I met a team of strangers that quickly became family, we cried, struggled and it got real when it came to camping! From going through different scenarios such as losing our luggage and having to share a tent with a friend or eating tons of wonderful but strange foods (crickets or weird black egg, gross). From hobo dinners in the middle of a bonfire, while being under the stars and worshiping as a family, diving into every session and taking COLD bucket showers or simply not showering for days (You know, who you are LOL). We decided to die to our comfort, old self and allow Him to heal some deep wounds. I remember hearing a session where they mentioned “All he needs is a YES”
I wrestled with God as soon as I heard that! I’ve been following you all my life, I grew up in a Christian home and played my role; I remember telling Him “I’ve been doing it all right, what else do you want from me?”
As Evan started singing,
“Every lie will be cut down. In the end, we will be singing out
You’re worthy of all praise. And we will fight. We will fight for your fame. Name above all names, we will fight. We will fight for your fame.
No matter where we are we won’t stop singing, with every breath in our lungs we’ll shout it out, No matter where we are we won’t stop singing. That you are Lord, You are Lord!”
I felt Him saying, “I want a YES and follow me, wherever that might lead, I want you to follow me and I want to be enough for you.” As I felt my tears running down my face, I remember telling God “Yes, Yes, Yes God, I’ll follow YOU, not a perception of who I think you are. I want to make you known, I want you to lead me, I’m all in and I’ll follow you.” I’ve never felt so free, loved, forgiven, accepted and understood till now, it’s like all these years I’ve been carrying a mindset of needing to be perfect because I was a Christian but in reality God just wanted me to accept his love and understand that I was Born To Be Loved by Him, WOW! We were created to be loved by him!!!!! Take a second and actually digest that, you were born to be loved, he wants to walk next to you and lead you. Are you ready to say YES to Him?
Reminder:
- You Were Born To Be Loved by God!
- You are meant To Be Free by God!
Challenge:
Ask the Lord “How can I serve you? How can I share your love with others?”
Two simple challenges that will change everything around you, please share, would love to hear what the Lord did in your life.
My last question to you would be: How can I serve you?
