At training a woman by the name of Erika spoke to us about the Holy Spirit and listening to the Holy Spirit. For me this was a very interesting lesson to sit through and learn because growing up I was not exposed a lot to the Holy Spirit. She said on June 17th that while we were on the field we needed to sit back and listen to what the Holy Spirit was saying to us.
So on Monday June 17th, my friends and I were sitting around talking after dinner about different struggles we have been going through. Then my friend Brittany told us about a dream she had had and wondering what it must mean. All of a sudden my friend Parker says, “Ok this is the Holy Spirit talking to me.” He interprets the dream for her and then just starts spitting out truth for all of us to hear. It was a wonderful moment for everyone sitting in that circle to hear what he was saying because the Holy Spirit was telling us things to help us each get through the different struggles we are going through. Then as Parker is talking my friend Izzie writes a song in a matter of 5 minutes and once again it was beautiful and straight from the Holy Spirit. While all of this is happening though we had not realized of the date and honestly forgot about what Erika had told us to do on June 17th. Then one of our friends came into the room and reminded us that today was June 17th and we were suppose to listen to the Holy Spirit and then we were all freaked out but in a good way.
Throughout this trip I have learned that not only is it about making an impact on the people you meet when you travel to a new country to spread the word, but it’s also about the people that you travel with. Everyday I learn something new through my friends that have accompanied me on this trip and I am so thankful that they have been able to teach me new things about the Lord as well.
