Buenas tardes de Colombia

From training camp to today, I’ve been with my team for 12 days. You can’t even tell that we were strangers less than two weeks ago! We arrived in Medellin the beginning of last week, rested for a day & half, and have since participated in 5 days worth of ministry. Each day fluctuates based on the ministry‘s needs. One day we were extending invitations to families for Saturday’s kid-focused ministry. Another day we were at the intersection of a heavily trafficked drug area to pray over individuals, give out sugar water, and inform locals about Ciudad Refugio. Each day is eye opening and challenging in one way or another. This organization has so much to offer and I’d love to speak directly with you about the ways they’re helping their community.

Mondays are for adventures! Yesterday most of my team hiked to three crosses that overlook the city. If you knew me, you’d know that I truly thrive when I’m surrounded by plants, and trails, and the sun, and fun company. Ya girl had all of that yesterday :’-)

We observe Sabbaths on Tuesdays, aka today wooooo! Some friends are checking out coffeeshops and the mall (there’s an 8 story mall here!!), but I’m j chillin and it’s g r e a t. Taking time to rest is one of the most refreshing things I can do for myself. Throughout the past week I felt very go-go-go. There’s always stuff to do, things to see, and people to hang with. As I reflect on last week and pray into this coming week, I’m feeling very calm and enthusiastic. #letsgetinvolved Most of the ministries I’m interested in for this week are areas I helped with last week. Two of my favorites include prayer walks (every couple of days) and teaching English (Saturdays). In the coming weeks I might find myself helping out in the kitchen, doing work projects, and/or helping to organize the youth ministry. Honestly I’m here to be helpful in anyway possible so who knows what each day is to bring!

I’ve started a list of topics I want to talk about, so stay tuned for roughly a blog post a week!
