“Thank you God for this food

Thank you God for mommy

Amen”
*bow*

The two-year olds I was with the month of January prayed this simple prayer everyday before lunch. These precious kids live at Connie’s Home, Chiang Mai, Thailand. They are living here until they get adopted and get to live with their “forever mommy and daddy.”

I will forever treasure the time I spent at Connie’s Home. Connie, the woman who raises these kids, is such an inspiration. She takes in sick babies and raises them to be adopted. She loves them as her own and is so involved in making sure these kids grow up happy and healthy. She makes sure each kid feels her love and knows who Jesus is.

The home has two sections. The left building houses the 6 older kids (4-7yrs) and the right building houses the 5 younger ones (2-3yrs). Everyday the kids have outside time, lessons, playtime, and naptime. Anni and I had the pleasure of working with little ones. They blew my mind with how smart they are. They know their colors, shapes and letters and it is seriously impressive. They also know both English and Thai which is so cool. We got to read them books, play games, and love on these beautiful kids.

Since Connie can’t take care of all the kids by herself, she does have Thai staff working there. What’s amazing about the staff is they are all from the juvenile delinquent center. Connie takes in young girls who have gotten into trouble and offers them a second chance. She teaches them how to nanny, disciples them, and prepares them for their future. Connie is in the process of building a cafe where the girls have a chance to learn business and other useful life skills.

I fell hopelessly in love with each of those kids and I seriously wished I could bring them home with me. They made my day all the time with every laugh and every hug. It was such a breath of fresh air to be able to spend 3 weeks with these precious kids.

This blog is simply an appreciation for Connie’s Home. I didn’t learn some big crazy lesson about God’s goodness or anything, I was simply able to enjoy His blessing of little kids and enjoy simple daily blessings.
