Hey people! We finally have left Nepal and made it to drum roll please… South Asia!

South Asia you might ask? Yes! For safety reasons we have to say South Asia to protect the people, hosts, and the  future of ministries. So here’s what we’ve been up to!

Rehab

We’ve been blessed to see a glimpse into a ministry here. A ministry that equips men to break chains of addiction. Here’s why this is one of my favorite places on earth. We get to play LOTS of volleyball and football (soccer) with these guys. We laugh really hard together but also share our burdens. They are real and honest about their struggles. They are so kind but also really funny. Each one has a messy story but isn’t afraid to share about the messiness. About the brokenness. About the redemption found in Jesus. Which made me reflect on the way I share my story. Often times I tell the clean and pretty story of how Jesus found me. But the truth is my story is really messy too. There’s lots of brokenness in it. Lots of sin. It’s not pretty. But I goes to show all the more how perfect Jesus is and how he chooses messy, broken, and imperfect people. Not people who have it all figured out. He embraces the mess.

These guys have stolen my heart. Their honesty and transparency. Their willingness to set their pride aside and admit to their shortcomings and problems. It’s real and raw.

No one is “too far gone” for Jesus to rescue. No one is “too hard” to love for Jesus. No ones addiction is too hard for Jesus to offer a way out. God loves the messiest and uses them. (Paul, really any of the disciples, Rahab, etc.)

School!

How I look so forward to going to the school weekly! I get to go to the same class each time where I get to see some sweet little friends! The classroom is ages 4-5 and they are all from different tribes. There’s at least 4 languages being spoken at one time. Truthfully none of them understand each other and it is the funniest thing. They are currently learning English and the alphabet and how to spell! I get the privilege to assist the teacher in teaching and helping them with writing. They love to sing songs and wrestle each other. It takes lots of patience to write the letter D over 50 times! However as of today school has been cancelled due to concerns of corona virus. It’s not in the state we are currently in but the government wants to take precautions.

A majority of them are only able to attend the school through sponsorship. This is their only access to education and a better life. Through the school they learn English and about Jesus. Sponsoring a child pays for uniforms, tuition, books, and medical checkups. If you’re interested you can click the link here to support a child! https://biblesfortheworld.org/sponsorship-2/

Medical Camps!

This has been one of the coolest parts! Every week we go with the local hospital to a rural villages and tribes to set up medical camps for people who font have access to health care! It’s been so cool to be a nurse overseas and care for people. I and some local nurses take their vitals and send them to different departments. There’s a medical and dental department. There they are seen by a doctor and are provided with the care, diagnosis, and medications they need. After that my sweet team prays over them. There was over 107 people who came to receive care. I went into nursing to help people. It is a dream come true to serve God and care for people.

construction

Our team has helped in building the foundation for a children’s Sunday school. The really cool part is that so many people in the community came to work on it! So many kids came to help along with adults. Everyone carried buckets of dirt, rocks, and cement. It was long but lots of fun!

This is only a quick update and a little bit of what we do during the week! I’ll be back soon to talk about the people we’ve met and the church!

Prayer requests

  • my bank account was hacked into and all of my money was stolen. So be praying that the bank refunds me. I know God’s got it in his hands. my Team had rallied around me and helped me and I’m forever grateful for their kindness!
  • a lot of the seminary students here are graduating at the end of this month and going out to start their own churches and ministries. Some are going to places where Christians are harshly persecuted. They’re reaching the unreached.
  • The men at the rehab center. Especially the ones graduating and returning home where temptation is great
  • The kids at the school for sponsorship and for them to know Jesus
  • A spiritual awakening back home!
  • My team leader Haley is still fundraising so if you feel lead please click here to support her in this mission trip! https://haleylowe.theworldrace.org
  • I’ve been asked a lot if we are going home due to the corona virus and as of now we will be staying here. So just for peace over my family and for AIM as they handle all the logistics.

Thank you guys again for reading to the end! And for keeping up with all that Gods doing here! I couldn’t do it without your sweet words of encouragement and support!!  Feel free to drop any comments and questions below! Talk to you soon!
