Hey guys! I have officially been gone from home for 1 week! So let’s talk about what’s happened!
Training Camp!
Training camp was great! I met my incredible team! We ate delicious international food… mostly with our hands. Here’s some thoughts I jotted down while I was there!
I grew up in and out of church. Wesleyan, Baptist, and Presbyterian. It wasn’t until I started following Jesus in high school and into college when I first heard about the Holy Spirit. I saw a couple healings at gauntlet. The churches I went to Didn’t really facilitate healing. I never saw prophecy. I never saw speaking in tongues. It wasn’t until my last mission trip that I saw spiritual gifts being activated. No one seemed to know about the topic or didn’t want to talk about it. Until the world race. I found my spiritual giftings and had the privilege to watch as others found theirs too.
When I experienced super natural healing in Ecuador, I thirsted to learn more. I’ve been reading in Acts about Paul who went around healing people, discipling, raising the dead, and performing miracles. All to point straight to Jesus and lead people to him. And this was post Jesus’s time. So I asked myself “why aren’t we as Christians being activated in these sorts of ministry/giftings? It seems that talking about these kind are taboo or off limits. So let’s talk about it!
I guess what I’m trying to say is healing, resurrection, spiritual gifts, prophecy is not a thing of the past that we just read about in the Bible. It’s attainable. We can do these things now! All to exemplify who God is and share the gospel. Holy Spirit has been moving at training camp. Many of us felt that we’re going to be seeing lots of healing in Nepal and India. I’m believing that we will too. Can’t wait to fill this blog with all that God does!
Nepal!
We have been in Nepal for 4 days now and it is so beautiful. It’s surrounded by mountains and all the buildings are so interesting. We learned about the primary religion being both Hindu and Buddhism. The main god that the people of Katmandu worship is ”shiva”. This is a god of destruction. They worship and bring offerings to him out of fear of this god. Every street corner and sidewalks has shrines for worshiping their gods. On Thursday we had the opportunity to visit the monkey temple. Thursday was the day of the festival for worshiping the goddess of studies and many young children and schools came to worship. Deepak, our host, took us to pray for everyone coming to the temple that day. It’s so easy to think of how much power satan has here but the reality is God has all the authority and power. There’s not a single person in Nepal who doesn’t have the ability to come and know who Jesus is. To know who the one true God is. King of kings. I was gently reminded on Saturday at church where so many Nepali people gathered to worship Jesus. So many people attend the church that they have to have 3 services. Children, women, men, old, sick, and healthy are all welcomed to join and worship him. God is ever so present in this country. He’s not a dead God. He’s working in the lives of the people here. He’s moving in my life. Satan has no hold on Nepal. Jesus is the one true king here!
Prayer requests
•that we be bold in professing the name of Jesus
•to be interuptable and allow the Holy Spirit to do his thing
•that our eyes be open to ministry right in front of us
•spiritual warfare is a real thing especially here so just protection from illness and any other schemes from the enemy (he’s definitely isn’t happy we’re here bringing the kingdom with us)
•That spiritual giftings be activated.
•that the people of Nepal would be open to the gospel!
Thank you to every single person who donated and prayed for me. I would not be here without your support! Love you guys and I’ll update you soon!
