The past two months have been some of the best two months of my life. I have been living in Thailand in a city called Chiang Mai, working with orphanages and at any organization, we could find. The Lord has truly blessed our time there. We were blessed with so many people who we could see Jesus through and we were safe for most of our adventures but now it is time to move on to Malaysia. On the morning of November 5, we boarded a bus at 5 am.
That Bus would take us all the way down through Bangkok and Phuket straight to a tiny Island in Malaysia called Penang which I will call home for the next month. We spent about 30 hours on a bus and I spent about 3 of those hours throwing up in the bathroom. There are 6 teams on my squad and 3 teams along with mine will be living on the island and the other 2 teams will be living somewhere on the main land. But the Lord brought us through it and now we are in the food capital of Asia. So far Malaysia has been pretty hard for me. The living situation is a little tougher than in Thailand and I have just been attacked spiritually. But I count all of that as my gain. When the disciples were flogged in the synagogues, the left rejoicing because they were honored to be persecuted in the name of Jesus. All of the discomfort I am feeling right now is for the Lord and is just part of abandonment. Jesus never called us to be comfortable, he called us to follow him.
So if you could pray for our time here. Pray that we would make good friends with the Muslims and that God would pierce their hearts with the truth of the gospel because they are just as precious to him as we are.
