Having Faith:
When I first felt a calling towards the World Race I was very weary of the money that came along with it. I come from a low income family where most of my life we’ve had to live from paycheck to paycheck and often required government help just to get by. So the thought of raising $4,600 was INCREDIBELY daunting. Although, the past year of my life, God has shown me over and over that some of the most amazing things He will do through us is where we are least comfortable. I have been so so blessed with sweet family, friends, and total strangers who have donated, pledged money, bought shirts from me, and even just joined me in prayer and encouragement. The anxiety I get from worrying about not raising enough funds is taken away when I am reminded of how faithful our God is in everything He has for us.
Fundraising update:
After selling shirts and taking donations/pledges I am at a total of $1,500 donated/pledged. That means I have $3,100 left to raise. This is still such a daunting number to me but I know it will get done in God’s time. I have three deadlines I have to meet between now and June 24th (listed below). So I have decided to do my second big fundraiser towards my trip: Adopt A Box!
May 2nd- $2,300
May 31st- $3,450
June 24th- $4,600- FULLY FUNDED!!
Adopt A Box:
Adopt A Box is a fundraiser where there are 100 boxes numbered 1-100 and you donate the amount of money of the number on the box you choose to adopt. (Box 1=$1, Box 14=$14, Etc.) If ALL the boxes are filled I will be FULLY FUNDED!!! No amount is too small and every box in this fundraiser counts! Money can be donated through the donate button on my blog page, venmo (@jesseesmithh), paypal ([email protected]), or even just plain ole cash.
