The last sip of coffee usually is extra sweet; ya know, when all the sugar falls to the bottom. Or if you don’t have sugar in your coffee, the last sip is also the strongest; maybe with some little thin wisps of coffee grounds in it. It reminds me of seasons of life.

Compare finishing a cup of coffee to finishing a season; it is a little sweet, maybe a little strong and acidic tasting. It is bittersweet because you’ll be out of coffee soon; but you can’t just leave it in the cup and pretend you finished your coffee. But as soon as you finish that last sip, it opens your cup to be refilled with new, hot coffee. A new strength, sweetness, good bitterness. It allows you to experience a familiarity, but maybe in a different light.

You have to finish one season to invite the beauty of newness for the next one. Savor the end of your season. Take the last sip slowly if you need to. Find the beautiful pieces of gold throughout the season, thank God for His beauty in it; but don’t hold on to it when walking into the next one. You have to be empty to be filled again, so that you may overflow.

Have you ever had a realllyyyyy good cup of coffee? You tend to remember it. Whether it was actually the coffee, or it was the setting of your back porch and it was just the perfect time of morning, or it was having a conversation with a friend; you remember the sweetness of the moment of everything coming together.

Hold on to the goodness of the Lord from each season in life. Remember His faithfulness and what He taught you, like sweet memories and lessons, and carry that with you. His love and His faithfulness and every aspect of Him carries throughout every season of your life. He is beautifully consistent. He is always molding and shaping you; through every tear, every exploding joyful moment, every time you choose obedience and abiding, everything. He brings you through with gentleness and love, and is always willing to teach you.

So savor the last sip of your season, and open your heart, and cup, to experience the faithfulness in the Lord filling you up again.

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” – Psalms 23:5

As you may know, I am heading to Georgia in about 2 weeks to start my discipleship program with Adventures in Missions called CGA!! I am SO excited about this opportunity and this next season of my life, and I would be honored if you would choose to support me in it. I need to have $2,000 by the time I move in, to meet that goal (once everything I have is processed) I still need $1,597 to go. Please partner in praying for me for health and provision, and consider donating to support me in this next season!
