As I end my time here in Granada, Nicaragua, I have a lot to reflect on. So much has happened in these four weeks, and there is much to tell of the literal and spiritual foundations that have been laid this first month.

We have been here in Nicaragua on a farm with a ministry called Reap Granada. Here we have done all sorts of ministry work from walking through the streets praying for people to digging holes and trenches to running sports programs for kids. Some of the men on our squad, including myself, were assigned specifically as a construction crew for various projects. Lots of digging, leveling floors, mixing cement and laying block, but it was all worth it to help these people physically build a home for their families. It has been great to work along side like-minded people with a like-minded mission. We are bringing the love of Jesus Christ through our work, prayers, and acts of love.

One of the best things about being here in Granada is being able to practice and practically use my foundational knowledge of the Spanish language. It is awesome to have a whole ministry full of teachers. Children, women, and men of all ages are more than willing to speak with and correct me. It has been such a blessing!

As my knowledge of Spanish grows, there is an equal amount of growth in my spirit. The foundation that was laid by Christ has been built up in many ways. We have an amazing opportunity here to set aside specific times of the day to pray and have personal time with the Lord, and to hear His voice of love in those times has been so sweet. I’ve read through certain books of the Bible that have taught me much of who God is and what he desires of me as his son. I am reminded of Job 42:5 where God reveals Himself to Job. My prayer is now, “I heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eyes see you.”

God has revealed Himself so much in this first month. I cannot wait until He shows me more of who He is. Pray that God would reveal more of His character and will to me as I continue serving Him abroad. Thank you all for your support and for following my journey; it has been a huge blessing.
