Praise the LORD! We are finally in Granada, Nicaragua! There has been so much poured into our squad over these past few weeks, and I am made confident in my ability and in my team’s ability to do what we need to do; we have been prepared by our awesome leadership. Our goal in these next 11 months will be to bring the kingdom of God to the world. Many of the areas we will be reaching are in countries where the gospel of Jesus is unknown. The many different cultures and languages will be barriers for me and my team, but God will break down these barriers and allow us to minister to those in need of Jesus.
Here in Nicaragua, God has shown himself powerful in healing, protection of his children, built vulnerability and accountability to others. People have been healed of their physical ailments by the power of God; people’s back pain, migraines, joint pains, and more have been taken away in the name of Jesus. We are on a spiritual battlefield here, and God has shown us that through praise and a right focus on Him, we can watch Him overcome the powers of this world. Our Squad has grown closer together in the few weeks that we have known each other. We are accountable to one another, we worship together, we eat and fellowship with one another, and we get to share the love of Christ with each other every day. We also get the amazing opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the people we meet every day. We have been going on “prayer walks” in the streets; as we meet people in the streets, we stop, talk with them to find out their story, and love them with the love of Jesus. After we converse, we pray over them and whomever else may need prayer.
God has shown me new things about himself that I never knew. I have always had a hard time receiving the love of the Father. God has brought to my mind through the Holy Spirit that he loves me with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3). Now that I understand more clearly how much the Father loves me, I can share this love with others more fully. The Spirit’s voice has never been so clear, so recognizable, or so impossible to ignore. He has comforted me with love from the Father as well as spurred me to move and act according to his will. I have witnessed the power of the Holy spirit in my own life and the lives of my squad mates.
God is going to use this squad to do great and mighty works all around the world, but while we are here in Nicaragua, we must focus on bringing the Kingdom of God where our feet are. Pray that we would find our individual and team purpose here in Nicaragua. We want to continue to see God’s hand move. Pray that we would follow where the Spirit leads us. People need the love of Christ. Pray that we would be willing, ready, and eager to give that love away.
