with the new year present and 2019’s passing, these words hit with such truth to challenge and bring comfort. I encourage you to read these words and meditate on them for this coming year!

“as the year comes to a close, i realized the Lord was pushing me to share what’s on my heart.

yes, new year’s is a great time to forget about the year prior and take on what’s present with open arms, but what if the Lord isn’t done working through something that happened in 2019? what if the Lord wants to take you on a journey, that will cause you to still feel pain that occurred in 2019?

for me, i would love to pack up the pain and struggles of this past year and forget it all, but i know i still have open wounds and they must heal before i can move on.

rather than having the mindset of ”leave the pain and heartache in 2019” let’s turn to the Father and ask him what he wants us to do with it in 2020. perhaps he wasn’t done growing you through it. for growth to happen, you must understand you won’t grow in your comfort zone. God pushes because he loves you unconditionally. he loves you far too much for you to stay where you are.

Father, i pray for your nations. i pray that we see your many blessings each day, not just as we reflect on a year coming to an end. that we will all turn to you before we take a step and ask you what direction we are supposed to go in. i pray you strengthen us all to not forget the pain of this year, but to praise you through it and drop it at your feet and trust you. trusting that if it is to be a part of 2020, we don’t fight it. nor will we get down on ourselves for not “leaving it in the past”, for it may be a major part of what drives us forward. through every high and low, i pray 2020 is a year of more grace, more love, more patience, and FULL SURRENDERANCE.

this is your year Lord, work in your nations in powerful ways.
