I want to tell a story. About 2,000 years ago, God fulfilled His promise to His people about sending a Saviour. Someone who would take all our sins and be the final and perfect sacrificial lamb. Someone who would be perfect and never sin. Someone who would be tempted just like us, but through His strength, God’s strength, He persevered and didn’t sin. He was rejected by His people. They chose to free a committed murder and crucified Him instead, a blameless man. This man died on a cross. This man had done nothing wrong in His life, but He died a criminals death. The reason for that is us. He died so that we could be forgiven our sins. He died in place of us. He was the one on the cross instead of us. But the story doesn’t end there, oh no! 3 days later, God raised Him from the dead! He defeated death! God showed us that He is greater than anything or anyone! He showed us God’s power, but He also showed us God’s grace! Romans 5:20-21 “The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Galatians 2:21 (ESV) “I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.” This man, this Saviour, this perfect sacrificial lamb, this man who died for us, who died for you! His name is Jesus! Christmas is when we celebrate His birth. We celebrate the fact that He chose to leave heaven and die for us. I hope that you have an amazing Christmas!

With love,

Hannah
