It’s been officially one month of my being in Guatemala!!!! I love it here so much and I can’t even think about the fact that we actually have to leave.
This past month has been a little bit of a struggle, with learning to live in community and literally always being around the same people, but through those hard times, I learned to love my team and my squad even more.
I can’t even describe the joy that I feel when I get to go to the Senior Center, or the school, or the church, or even staying at home, when it’s time for ministry. My team’s ministry is something that we all love so much and get excited for each week. (For more info on our ministry schedule, look at pervious blog posts)
Last week we had debrief and it was a time for us all to digest what has happened this past month and to have a little fun while doing it.
I learned more of who I am. I am God’s daughter and He loves me. Through the song “Who am I” by Casting Crowns, I am able to show you a glimpse of how His love for me has changed how I identify myself.
I am, a flower quickly fading (gaining confidence)
Here today and gone tomorrow (God will never leave me)
A wave tossed in the ocean (a wave may seem so small, but there is so much more in the big picture of these waves)
A vapor in the wind (the wind and air is everywhere, and so is God)
It’s still you
You hear me when I’m calling
Lord you catch me when I’m falling
You tell me who I am
I am yours
