Hey all!
I want to say thank you to everyone who has contributed to the $12,480 that has been fundraised for my trip!!!! I am blown away by how much love you all have for me. I really want you to know that you have shown me how much the Lord wants me to go on this trip. I met each deadline with about $1,000 more than I needed and it was just so amazing.
I do have some news that I need to share with you all.
Over the past 2 weeks or so, I have been feeling some knee pain that seemed to be worse than just having weak knees or a bruise or something, so I scheduled a doctors appointment. After that, I had 2 MRIs and an X-Ray, and they found a benign tumor the size of a golf ball growing behind my knee, where there is supposed to be empty space to allow for movement of the joint. Because of its size and the fact that it is obstructing my movement, I need surgery as soon as possible. The only problem is that we don’t know if I will need arthroscopic surgery or an incision, and I am going to be seeing a tumor specialist to inquire about this. The recovery could take 2-6 weeks depending on which surgery they have to do.
Hopefully I can take a few weeks to recover and then launch late. I don’t know all the details quite yet because I still have to talk to the tumor specialist.
I had no way to know that this was here and I would have gone to the doctor sooner if I had had this pain.
I have been in contact with Adventures In Missions during this whole process and we are trying to see what is able to be done for me. Please keep my family, my squad, and I in your prayers as we go through this.
