We saw you shine among all the thorns of your post. We gave you water and food when the time came. We spoke life into you through the cold. We gave you a little bit of green life. As we opened up the garden and walked in we felt the hurt and the pain, but still saw potential. In that little green stem.
Life as a yellow rose.
The life you lived, the people that once walked over you because they saw the beetle bites and the spots that were not vibrant. But we came to you seeing that as beauty. Those torn and bruised spots only allowed you to stretch those very petals towards God and allowed Him to patch them up. The flower shop owners defined you as not having the qualities of a worthy gift. They do not see you as a wild and beautiful Christ follower. All they see is unweeded, beetles, wind storm, cold nights, and a fence weeder.
But we saw all of those and still picked you!
Those marks are marks of the overcoming God! He loves you so much that yes it took pulling and pruning, and months and months to get you where I wanted you to be. But when you bloom, several take flight after you! The color you show after the pruning season has been what everyone dug so deep and prayed so hard for. You rose, were loved harder to seek only the plan Christ came with, in the very beginning of time.
