What a name for training camp right? Well this sums up the past 11 days of training camp. Training camp brought a lot of amazing adventures. Some we wish we could have changed some we didn’t want to leave to moment. From the food we ate, the buckets we used for showers, the porter potty’s, the heels we walked up and down, and blessings upon blessings we got to experience. I’ll start with the wonderful living environment.
1. Tents !!!!! please invest in a really good one because it will rain and it will get wet if you do not have a good rainfly. You will still get water in your tent but it won’t be as bad if you invest in a good tent. Don’t get a tent that you cannot pack up and put up fast. But I would get At least a one – two man tent trust me!! Also make sure you put up and tear down a lot before you get the training camp!
2. Sleeping!!!!! Make sure you have a good sleeping pad. My sleeping pad came from my Grandma and her husband and it was perfect for me. I got sone good sleep Therma rest is what it is what it is called. I thank them so much for it. Also October was very cold so invest in a 20-30 degrees sleeping bag. It will be cold and sleep a good night sleep is important .
3. Snacks!!!! If you are always hungry make sure you bring snacks. Nothing that is to smelling because all of your stuff will be left in your tent and you are in woods with noisy animals. Thankfully we didn’t have any visitors but ants, scorpions, and granddaddy long legs.
4.Packing!!!!! Im sure you have seen several other post videos and podcast about training camp but maybe this is your first one seeing if so pack light you don’t need a lot of clothes.Skirts basketball shorts and a pair of jeans where good to bring for me. i took more than what I needed. You will be able to was your clothes (not in a washer and dryer) but the same way you wash your body you will be able to wash your clothes.Thats all I am going to say about that. Bring lots of deodorant and baby wipes!!!!!!
5.Showering!!!! Get use to baby wipes. They will be your best friend. You do have showers but there cold and well you will see when you get to training camp. You should bring some soap and hair stuff but just don’t think it is a wonderful chandelier bathroom!!!!
6.Expectance!!! Do not expect it to be easy cause it’s not. But come expecting the love of Jesus to fill your life. You I’ll be changed through all the worship teachings pastors and past racers. Training camp is powerful and unforgettable. You will have to get close to your squad and team really quickly so be use to socializing and closeness. My squad was very small but we got close really quick because of it. I’m not going to go on about what happens at training camp. Please come open minded but aware that it is lots of fun hard and powerful. You will be pushed to the max.
