I am entering my third and final month of the world race. My team just moved from San José to Jaco, Costa Rica and I have been processing all that happened in our last month. Each day looked different. We worked with an organization called Conexión Ministries doing prison ministry, medical clinics, and kids ministry. We encountered new people each day and were able to share love with the people around us. Each day had its own stories and I was able to capture some of my favorite moments to tell the stories behind them here.
I will start off with a photo of my team with our base mentors, Anna and Kevin. We lived in the Adventures in Missions base and they took time to laugh with us, judge our weekly home talent show, and pour into us with prayer and teachings. We loved them and are forever thankful for their joyful support and wisdom.
This was our home in San Jose. This living room was a place where our community thrived. We ate bowls of cereal over open Bibles in the mornings. We hosted talent shows and game nights and worship nights in this space. It was a room filled with dance parties both day and nights. It was a place where my team chased after the Lord and found Him and was unified in the encounter.
This was our bus and incredible bus driver. Every morning our driver, Alfredo, arrived with a smile from ear to ear to take us to ministry. He learned each of our names and took time to know each one of us. Sometimes the rides were a little bumpy, but we cherished each moment in our yellow bus.
Working the trampoline was the best, because I could jump with the kids. The kids were always eager for their turn to get on the trampoline and their eagerness was matched with great joy when they were jumping.
My favorite game is the most intense version of rock, paper, scissors ever. It involves running and jumping and team pride. Girls vs boys brings on a lot of cheering.
Absolutely no joy like bounce house joy. We loved having photo shoots in between jumping turns.
I loved our time in San Jose, and I hope you enjoyed seeing some of what the month looked like in photos. I am so expectant for what my final month of the race has in store.
