hey! for those who don’t know me my name is em! I’m 21 & I live in Australia! (no, I don’t have kangaroos living in my backyard, but I used to!)
I’m a final year uni student studying commercial interior design, & am also currently a full time bible college student! when I’m not studying I work at an outdoor adventure store & youth lead the best group of world changers. I am also obsessed with nature, elephants, my dog, art, photography, & Africa (for real though, many people think I’ll move to Africa one day…you never know, hey?!)
as an eleven year-old graduating grade six I was asked to paint what I wanted to be when I grew up. I painted the world, & wrote the words around it “to see people, to see cultures, to see & witness history.” little did I know that a year later God had put the nation of Africa on my heart, & by the time I was fourteen I knew that I wanted to do some sort of missions-based thing in my future. since then the passion to pursue missions has only grew in my heart, with Jesus orchestrating & aligning my steps.
so…here I am seven years later, with the Holy Spirit leading me to the world race: an 11 month missions trip, to 11 different countries.
after months of prayer, as of january 2020 I will have the opportunity to minister to people in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal, India, South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, & Zambia.
why the above countries? because there are seven countries on the route that I genuinely feel called to & have had on my heart to pursue: the nation of Africa, India, & Nepal. after going on a missions trip to Mozambique last year, God clearly spoke to me that Africa was ‘home’ for me, & that I was far from done ministering to people within the nation.
it’s also super ironic to that a couple years back, I had the opportunity to lead a youth camp in Myanmar, but that fell through at the time…now that door to the country will be re-opened. all in God’s timing, right?!!
I am keen as a bean to see where Jesus will lead me & those I will be travelling with; who we will meet, who we will encounter, the opportunities God has already started orchestrating for us to step into, & the way we will encounter the Lord ever more deeply than we have ever known before. but more importantly, I am beyond keen to be the hands, feet, & heart of Jesus, sharing His relentless love, peace, goodness, & faithfulness to all who I encounter.
