Hi everyone!

My name is Emily Christein (preferably just Em), and I am so excited to share my upcoming journey with you through this blog!

I am originally from Pforzheim, Germany, but have lived in Georgia with my parents and two older siblings for the majority of my life. My dad’s company moved us here many years ago, and since I no longer have an accent, I think this is home now.

For the majority of my life, I have felt like I had things pretty figured out. I always had a plan. I always had that next goal in mind, and the determination to reach it. However, time and time again I have reached the goals, and ended up with the emptiness of worldly accomplishments, the dust that settles on medals and awards, and the ever-growing hole in my heart that was begging for more. Ultimately, that hole is what kept me striving for more and more of the things that were making the hole bigger instead of filling it. For so many years I have been following my dreams and asking God to follow me, instead of following God and letting Him lead me. If I have learned one thing in my 22 years on this earth, it is that there is no award, no degree, no title, and no possession that can ever fulfill an existence created by, and for, God.

My biggest fear is achieving all my goals and having failed to fulfill my purpose.

Due to this, I have decided that it is time to lay it all down. Every dream, every goal, every desire, at the feet of Jesus.

In October 2019, I will be quitting my amazing full time job. I will putting away my medical school applications. I will be leaving my family and my home. I will be laying down all my dreams to spend 11 months chasing after what God has for my life.

If you are still reading this, I thank you for taking the time to read the introduction to my blog. There is certainly much more to come. If you are interested, I would love for you to subscribe to this blog and follow along with my journey, as well as pray for me as the Lord leads you!

Blessings and love,

Em Christein
