I’m sure some of you are wondering why I have decided to do the World Race. Why I would choose to live out of a backpack for 9 months. Why I would take the risk of possibly living in a tent for months. Why I would leave all of my friends, family, and comforts of home, to go live with total strangers in a new place. To the world, doing this trip makes no sense. To the world, going on the World Race is crazy.
But I don’t live for the world . . . I live for Jesus.
Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God.”
So why am I doing the World Race? Because every single person on this planet has a Savior named Jesus Christ. Jesus died a brutal death on the cross, and rose three days later (praise God!!!), so that all people could have eternal life through Him.
I am doing the World Race because I know and believe in this Truth. Jesus has my heart and my life. My life isn’t about me, my life is about glorifying Jesus.
Jesus says in Matthew 28:18-20, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
So why am I doing everything the world says not to do? Because my God has told me to do this, and I will obey Him.
I will live my life to glorify God by showing many people His perfect love, and by proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ everywhere I go.
Please know you are perfectly loved, and that you have a Savior who wants a relationship with you. Romans 10:9-11, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and you believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, ‘Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”
There is freedom and hope in Christ, and I will proclaim that glorious Truth.
