I’m sitting in my apartment in Denton, Texas and I realize that I am being called to a greater purpose than working and attending college full time.  I’ve had friends that have been on mission trips with Adventures in Missions, and I begin to scour their site.  Click, click, click, each click takes me deeper into the website, and each blog I read resonates with me. Excitement courses through my veins and that still small voice begins to beckon me.  Eleven countries, in eleven months.  The World Race.

I remember my freshman year of high school when I traveled to Guatemala, and there in a women’s shelter, I heard God tell me:  This is it.  This is what you are meant to do.  Serve and work with people. Somehow though, the busyness of life (and college) while all preparing me to do His work, also got in the way of His work.  And then, that night, I heard that voice again.

So, here I go!

I’ve decided to go on this amazing opportunity through Adventures in Missions.  I’m going on an eleven month, eleven country mission trip, where I get to be the hands and feet of Christ.  I will meet people where they are, live among them, and love them as God has loved me.

I can’t describe the peace that washed over me when I said yes, and I filled out that application form.  A peace that surpasses all understanding.  I can’t wait to step out in faith and reach people groups from all over the world.

There is nothing more amazing than saying yes to God. Just as the song So Will I, by Hillsong United says: If you gave your life to love them, So will I.

Please follow me on the journey, as I prepare both spiritually and financially to say YES, so will I.

Much love,

Ellie
