“Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things.”
-Colossians 3:2
When you are put out of your own bed, your own WiFi signal, your own bathroom, your own bubble, you are pushed out of your comfort zone. During the race you can guarantee to be pushed spiritually and physically but in the best way possible. This is when you are able to learn more about yourself and Gods attributes and how HE works.
Living here in Quito comes with some different characteristics, for example: spotty WiFi, boiling hot showers or ice cold (there is never an in between for me), limited control over your meals, and awkwardly full bus rides to and from ministry.
These past 3 weeks I have learned you can not find peace & rest in earthly things (like the WiFi, warm showers, etc) but only God. When you come to Him tired and weary HE will give rest (Matthew 11:28). I can get so caught up with the little things like being irritated by poor WiFi or stuffed bus rides after a long day and forget how God brought me here for a bigger reason/purpose. Colossians 3:2 popped up on my phone when I was irritated by the fact I wasn’t able to have a WARM shower and the only options were FIRE or ICE. God has a sense of humor people. The Lord reminded me that some people don’t even have a shower.
Anyways friends & family I just wanted to let you know what I’ve been learning and working on. I will continue to seek rest in the Lord and not in that avocado toast with a sprinkle of lemon and dash of crushed red pepper.
Love y‘all! Talk 2 you soon!
(This is the hill we walk everyday for ministry and to go get WiFi at the pizzeria)
