I would love to tell you a little about what I will be doing, starting in October! Some of you are familiar with the World Race or may have already clicked on the tab on the blog’s home page, but if not I am going to explain it a little on here.
First off, the World Race is an 11 month mission trip to 11 different countries (my adventure side is very excited about this!) where we will be sharing the love of Jesus and serving others around the world. I will be traveling with a squad that will be around 55 people, and we will divide in smaller groups to meet the needs of ministries in each country. We will be doing a range of construction, VBS, building relationships with orphans, pray for the sick, etc.
For the whole year, I will be living out of a backpack! I am excited about this, the idea of fitting my life in a pack and going where God leads. Currently I am gathering items that will help me be successful in this, like a new pack. I have one, but it is too small to live out of for a year! I will be buying a tent where some places we may be living out of a tent or use it as a private quarter. It is going to be an adventure for sure and I am looking for to that part.
Another part I am excited about is the community that I will be living in. I will be traveling with other like-minded individuals who are hungry to know God on a deeper level and to be the hands and feet of Christ. I know this will be an amazing journey that will help me grow as a person, but more importantly in who I am in Christ.
God is already challenging me by writing a blog. It has actually been exciting to think of what to write, at first I was stressed and nervous. Afraid of being vulnerable, but after writing my About me page and the first post I feel a little free and excited to see what God is going to do through me with it!
Over the past few years, God has shown me that He is Jehovah Jireh, My provider. To go on the World Race, I need to fund raise, but I am at peace with it being provided. I fully believe that if this is the path that He is leading me on that it will be fully funded. This scripture in Matthew 6:26 “Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” brings great comfort and peace. He will meet my needs, I am of value and precious in His sight! I need to fund raise 19,200 for a year on the Race. This cost covers my travel, food, lodging, and travelers medical insurance. My prayer is that people will join this journey by partnering financially with me on this journey. I am praying that some will be led to give monthly. Please join me in that prayer!
