The past 10 days I have been in Gainesville, Georgia for training for my 11 month mission trip. I finally had the opportunity to meet my squad in person and the organization that is sending us on our mission. All I can say from the entire experience is “Wow!” Never in my life have I met a more genuine and loving group of individuals. I’ve never seen or met people so hungry to fully know and feel the love of God. And when it comes to my squad, God has truly blessed me to have the opportunity to spend the next year with them. I love them all already and can’t wait to start this journey God has called me on. There is so much more I could say about training camp, but let me impart you all with the same prayer I prayed every night at worship.
Father, thank you! Thank you for the love you have bestowed upon us. Thank you for the ability to speak with and experience you so evidently and vividly. I pray for each and every one of these individuals before. I pray that we remain hungry to know you and the love you have for ALL your children. I pray that all the chains that keep us in bondage of sin be broken. And all the barriers and walls that keep us from fully experiencing your glory be torn down, never to be repaired again! And finally I ask that we be sent to do the work that you have bestowed upon us rather than the work we have set out to honor ourselves. I pray we find joy in doing your work and that it be declared good through your name. Send me, Lord! In your Heavenly name I pray, Amen.
