Hello everyone!
I love my team and I love my ministry. Team Esther and Bola de Oro has completely changed me. Let me brag about how awesome my team and ministry is for a second.
First, Bola de Oro. I love everything about this little town. So much so that I got the mountains here tattooed on my arm. I love our ministry hosts like they’re family. I love the kids here and how they love us. I love hearing them laugh and seeing their faces light up when they see us. All our funny and random stories from Bola de Oro are my favorite to tell. I love every chicken and dog that roams the streets. All the people that smile and say “buenos días” to us. I love when it rains and a full on river forms in the streets. I love talking to our ministry hosts in the best Spanish we can attempt. I love building relationships with all the mothers, getting to hear their stories and hang out with them. Let them know we’re here for them and pray for them. I love the relationships we’ve built with the kids and how wherever we go they want to follow. I hope we’re leading them well enough to God. I absolutely love it here. It breaks my heart knowing soon I’ll be apart from them.
Now, my team. I feel like every time I call someone from home I’m talking about how much I love my team. I thank God everyday for my team. Team Esther has truly transformed from the forced friendship team I was assigned to, and into a group of my best friends and sisters. How fun is it that I get to live with my best friends?! Team Esther is amazing at loving each other, supporting one another, laughing at everything together, and being very intentional.
I don’t know how to express it enough how much I love each and every girl on my team.
I love when Makayla gets hyped on the Holy Spirit and starts singing and dancing around our room, occasionally talking with a British accent in the middle of a sentence. I love how incredibly wise Amber is and how much she’s been growing here. I love how HPK is so filled with joy that she seems to never stop smiling or laughing, her and I can just look at each other and burst into laughter. I love how Hannah Sullivan is so thankful and praises God all the time for curing her of her wheat and dairy allergy, also how she overflows with laughter at the tiny things. I love how Anabelle laughs at the strangest of things, and I’m gonna miss that when she leaves. I love how, like Buzz in Toy Story 3, Val sometimes “resets” and starts speaking Spanish in the middle of an English sentence. I really think they’ll be my people for the rest of my life and I’m so incredibly thankful for that. I believe we all truly love each other like family and I have so much love for them.
I was thinking about my team and my ministry and how much I love them and I realized something. This deep love and admiration I have for my team and Bola de Oro is the kind of love God has for us. He loves us so much. He’s full of sorrow when we’re sad and He’s so joyful when we’re happy. He brags about us and admires us even when we mess up. He’d tell stories about us and get excited to hang out with us again. God’s love for us is so deep and I’m so thankful He’s allowed me to understand even a little bit of it through my team and ministry. My eyes have been able to open a little more to amount of love our Heavenly Father has for us which is super cool. Thanks God!
That’s all for now!
See you soon!
