Hello everyone!
I was having my time with Jesus the three day, reading through John while listening to Kanye West’s new album “JESUS IS KING”.When suddenly “The Theory of Relativity”started playing. “The Theory of Relativity”is a musical I really like. Quite honestly, I like this musical so much I let it continue playing while I read through John. However, the first song on the album, “Person A”, has a line that says “I exist only if observed”.
It got me thinking, if my whole life I lived by myself in a house with no neighbors, didn’t go anywhere and didn’t have social media, no one would know I exist. No one would see me or know of me so in a way I wouldn’t exist to anyone in the world.
We don’t see God so how is it we know He exists? God speaks to us and we listen and obey. We also tell people about Him.
John 8:19 says, “Then they asked him, ‘Where is your father?’ ‘You do not know me or my Father,’ Jesus replied. ‘If you knew me, you would know my Father also.’” We tell people about our heavenly Father and we have conversations with Him so therefore He exists. We don’t have to see Him to believe, in fact we can’t.
And if I lived in a house by myself my whole life not going anywhere or meeting anyone, I’d still exist to God. To the people of this world I may not exist because no one would ever know me or see me. But my heavenly Father would know and see me. He’d still care about me, that’s all I’d need.
The line after “I exist only if observed” says “I am nothing without you”. We are nothing without God. We exist because of Him, we exist for Him, to glorify Him. How amazing is it that we get to be on this earth and exist simply to share what we know about Him with others? I think it’s pretty cool.
